I know what you’re thinking, isn’t that the biggest oxymoron, um, ever? And yes, yes it is. The only way it isn’t an oxymoron is if you happen to spending this Monday in, say, Disney World, or Narnia. And if that is the case, why the heck are you reading my blog?
Anywho, I triumphantly return to the blogosphere bearing gifts! My favorite fall makeup trends for 2012!! Let us dive right in!
1) Bushy Brows
Or, at least, natural. Let those babies grow! Go bold, go dark, go thick and lucious. Think of them as a coat for your forehead. Stop over-tweezing, ladies, and let those natural beauties shine, a la Brooke Sheilds.
Or Audrey Hepburn!
But please, as both these ladies do, groom them.
2) Brown Smokey Eye
RAWK IT. It’s messy, it’s hot, and it’s oh-so-sexy. Perfect for a crisp afternoon coffee or a candle-lit dinner with the love of your life, who thinks you’re prettiest without any makeup and you just roll your eyes and silently bid him to stop being a Katy Perry song.
See my post on an easy, subdued brown smokey eye, a la Kiera Knightley, pictured above, here.
Rachel can rock it. Perfect for Friday night football. If you’re into that kind of thing.
3) Bold, (Sometimes Matte) Lips
Save the gloss for people who still like Twilight*. Go bold with matte lipsticks and stains. The darker the better. *Kidding. Kind of.
This is from a NARS beauty campaign for their matte lipsticks. I LOVE me some NARS!
Or, in things you can afford, may I introduce you to your new best friend and her new best friend?
Emma Stone, and the Revlon ColorStay Lip Stain and balm in one. I ADORE THIS PRODUCT. GET EVERY SHADE IN THE CART!
4) Gold Touches
Invoke the changing leaves and your inner goddess by playing with this universally flattering shade.
I die for her cheeks. I want to nuzzle them.
Leave it to my main squeeze, Charlize, to rock this flawlessly.
5) Fresh, “Barely There” Makeup
Let your inner beauty shine! Cheeks that mirror the icy touch of cold winds, and lashes that look snow-kissed are all you need to rock this look!
This marries particularly well with the natural brow trend, as modeled by my good friend, Kate Winslet. Every night in my dreams, I see you, I feeeeeel youuuuuu and the awesome make-up you weeeeear.
Feel free to merge this look with trend 3 for a spot-on look, a la Michael Kors 2012.
And there you have it! My favorite fall makeup trends!
I’ll get you, my pretty, and your over-tweezed brows, too!
