Listen.

I know you feel hurt. I know you feel abandoned. And I take full responsibility for that. But fear not, my poor, blog-malnourished children; I come bearing gifts.

Yes! Tidings of great trends, foretold by yours truly. And by “foretold,” I mean “observed in various magazines and runway shows,” but, eh, semantics.

1) Red Lips

Spring is all about drawing attention to yourself in fun and flirty ways. And what is more, “Here I am, adore me!” than red lips? The great news about the spring version of red lips is that they can be as sheer or bright as you’d like! Gone are the days of drab burgandy!

You could try Buxom’s Betty Lipgloss for a fun pop of shiny, bright red. I found this swatch on Beautezine.

I am also OBSESSED with Urban Decay’s new Super-Saturated High-Gloss Lip Color in Adrenaline.

I found this swatch on Vampy Varnish, where she reports there are a couple of Milani dupes! While I can’t vouch for the Milani quality, my UD one stays put for hours, even through eating. I am quite smitten.

Obsessed, I tell you.

So this spring, when it comes to red lips- lighten up! And have fun.

2) Coral

Coral is the it color this spring. I know this because I’m psychic and/or because coral is pretty fabulous every spring. Nails, eyes, lips, all perfect canvases for this beautiful color.

Adele is a celebrity who has long been rocking a subtle use of coral eyeshadow. Here’s a great post by Goldie Starling on how to get this fabulous look: http://goldiestarling.blogspot.com/2011/03/adele-inspired-make-up.html

Visit her site for a great tutorial!!

I love coral on nails. Some of my favorites include:

Essie‘s Cute as a Button, which is on my nails (well, some of them) as we speak… read…

I get so many compliments on this color!

I have also been eyeing Revlon’s Tropical Temptation.

So pretty!

 3) Silver Metallic Eyes

In keeping with the attention-grabbing theme of the season, I LOVE shimmery silvers. Put it on your lids or on your lower lashes for the lightening flash treatment.

Some of my favorites include:

Urban Decay’s Verve (in the Naked 2 Palette.)

I love sweeping this under my lower lashes.

For a more budget-friendly alternative, I love the silver in the Maybelline quads.

Not pictured, but... they're awesome!

Do you have any favorite spring makeup trends?

I’m all ears!

Love,
Kaitlin

P.S. Sorry for my absense.

P.P.S. Sorry for how awkward this was.
